The horror film “The Mean One” satirizes How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Because Dr. Seuss died within a more recent decade, his works are not yet considered to be in the public domain. Movies like Mad Heidi and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey were made with relative ease because they were based on public domain books.
XYZ Films discovered a legal loophole that allowed them to create this gory film. There is a reason why Marvel and DC have yet to sue pornographer and director Axel Braun. In the United States, there is something known as “parody law.” Even though there is still the possibility of being sued, many directors can use this legal loophole. They find a way to utilize copyrighted characters without fear of legal repercussions. The main antagonist of this movie is called “The Mean One” instead of the Grinch. The Protagonist is simply called Cindy instead of Cindy Lou. The name the “Grinch” will never be mentioned in the movie.
The Mean One is portrayed by David Howard Thornton. He is the same actor who played Art the Clown from the Terrifier movies. He is getting typecast for these horror villain role but a Gig is a Gig.
