Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update about two players’ contract situations at Manchester City.
It’s been a summer full of rumours for City, and while a number of players have been linked with a move away, Romano has an update on two potential new contracts.
The journalist says Ederson will be the next player to sign a new contract, while the club are also planning talks with Raheem Sterling about his deal.
What’s been said?
Romano delivered an update on Sterling and Ederson.
“No way, Raheem Sterling is staying, they wanted to sell Sterling to find a solution for him and to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, but they want to discuss his contract in the coming weeks,” Romano said.
“Bernardo Silva, let’s see if the right bid arrives in the coming hours, if not he will stay. A new striker, I don’t know, they don’t want to do any panic buy. Congrats for extending the contract of Ruben Dias until 2027, the next one will be Ederson, that will be announced soon.”

Important
Manchester City didn’t sign Harry Kane or Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, but perhaps keeping their current squad together is the most important thing.
Say what you will about City needing a new striker, but this is still by and large the same squad that has won three of the last four Premier League titles in dominant fashion.
Pep Guardiola’s side are still going to be perennial contenders, even without a so-called number nine in the squad.
