The Chicago Blackhawks face off against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night in a big game for the team as they try and make up grounds in the standings. The Maple Leafs come into the game

Before we jump into the matchup too much let's start off with who is hot on the Maple Leafs. One has to start with Auston Matthews when mentioning the Maple Leafs so far this season he has 29 points and 17 goals on the year.

The Maple Leafs have a power play percentage of 29.1, one of the best in the league, and that is going to have to be a big point of emphasis tonight - staying out of the box.

In the Maple Leafs last five games they have won just two o those matchups, losing games against the Lightning, Jets, and Wild. Hey with two of those losses coming against Central Division teams maybe Chicago can walk away with a win tonight.

Tonight the Maple Leafs are going to be without Mitch Marner and Rasmus Sandin who are on injured reserve as well as Jason Spezza who is suspended. Beating the Maple Leafs in Toronto is a big task considering they are 11-4-1 at home on the year.

Keys To The Game For The Blackhawks:

1. Get Patrick Kane Involved: Kane has just a goal in his last ten games, and he also only has five points during that time. For the Hawks best forward for the last handful of seasons that is not a lot. During the team's first win streak under Derek King, Kane had six points in those four wins.

2. Offensive Zone Time: The Hawks are getting goals off the rush and on the power play but going back to the game against the New York Rangers on Tuesday this past week it was evident they couldn't hold possession in the offensive zone for very long. Finding a way to hold onto possession and keep the puck in the offensive zone might be a tough ask against the Maple Leafs, but they have to try.

3. Blocking Shots: Murphy blocked three, Jones blocked two, and McCabe had one to help keep the puck out of the net. The Blackhawks relied heavily on their defense in the 2-0 win against the Canadiens and they are going to need them to help get a win again tonight against the Maple Leafs. Blocking shots and playing well defensively in front of whatever goalie gets the start is going to be critical to getting a win.
