The Winnipeg Jets traded Bryan Little's contract and Nathan Smith to the Arizona Coyotes for a 2022 fourth-round pick on Monday.

Little, 34, hasn't played since the 2020 season after suffering a concussion and a surgery to repair a perforated eardrum. Little is signed through 2023-24 at $5,291,667 per season.

Smith is finishing out the season with Minnesota State in the NCAA, scoring 18 goals and adding 31 assists for 49 points in 39 games. The 23-year-old was not going to sign with the Jets and was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent in the off-season.
