Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passed away at the age of 52.

Actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal recently passed away due to Covid-19. He was 52. Bikramjeet was admitted to Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai where he took his last breath. He was a retired army officer who played supporting roles in many films and television serials. The late actor was last seen in Disney+Hotstar’s web series Special Ops. Last year, Bikramjeet Kanwarpal had shared a video on YouTube, urging everyone to stay home. In the video, he was heard saying that he missed his family and wanted to be reunited with them soon.

TRIBUTES POUR IN FOR BIKRAMJEET KANWARPAL

Manoj Bajpayee took to Twitter and expressed his shock over Bikramjeet's demise. He wrote, "Oh my god!!! What a sad news !!! We knew each other for 14 yrs since the making of 1971 ! REST IN PEACE MAJOR !!! So Shocking (sic)!!!"

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit mourned the loss of the actor on Twitter and wrote, “Sad to hear about the demise of actor Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal this morning due to #Covid. A retired army officer, Kanwarpal had played supporting roles in many films and television serials. Heartfelt condolences to his family & near ones (sic).”

Sharing a picture of Bikramjeet, Rohit Bose Roy tweeted, "And we lose another one... The happiest, most gentlemanly, always positive and smiling Major Bikramjeet... RIP (sic)."

Neil Nitin Mukesh tweeted, "Extremely sad news . I’ve known Major Bikramjeet for so many years. He and I have worked on so many films together. The last being Bypass Road. Such a fantastic, encouraging and energetic human being he was and will always be remembered as. #RIP My dear friend will miss you (sic)."

Mourning over his death, Vikram Bhatt who had worked with him in several of his films, wrote, "Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passes away. Taken from us by the cruel pandemic. I have done a lot of films with him and this doesn't get closer home. The days are turning into one long obituary and yet each life that we lose cannot be just a number. We cannot allow it to become a number. Each a special friend. May his soul rest in peace. #covid #covid19 #covidindia (sic)."

Bikramjeet had starred in films such as Corporate, Page 3, Aarakshan, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, Murder 2, 2 States and The Ghazi Attack among others. On television, he played prominent roles in shows such as Diya Aur Baati Hum, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Dil Hi Toh Hai and Anil Kapoor’s 24.

COVID-19 CASES IN INDIA

Meanwhile, India has been seeing over 3 lakh new cases every day for over a week now after the country first topped the 3-lakh mark on April 22 when 314,835 cases tested positive. India has recorded 3,86,452 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Union health ministry said on Friday. This is the biggest single-day spike the country saw since the pandemic began. The overall caseload in India has mounted to 1,87,62,976, and the nationwide toll to 2,08,330.

Top five states which registered maximum cases are Maharashtra with 66,159 cases, followed by Kerala with 38,607 cases, Uttar Pradesh with 35,104 cases, Karnataka with 35,024 cases and Delhi with 24,235 cases.
