Isn’t It Romantic?
Rebel Wilson confirmed that she is dating someone after being set up by a mutual friend.
“I am now happily in a relationship,” the “Pitch Perfect” actress revealed on Wednesday’s episode of Jordana Abraham and Jared Freid’s podcast “U Up.” “I met them at a friend’s setup.”
Wilson, 42, added that she had been on the dating apps for a bit but she was ultimately introduced to her new significant other through a pal.
“I was on and off on the Raya app, but this was a friend setup,” she said. “He had known both of us for at least five years and he thought we would hit it off — and then we did!”
Wilson expressed how she believes that meeting someone through a friend can sometimes be better than going through an app because there is a vetting process.
“I think that escalates things quicker, meeting someone from a trusted source,” Wilson said. “I can trust that they are who they say they are, which is something that you don’t really know on the apps.”
Wilson did not reveal the identity of her new flame and her rep did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
The “Senior Year” star was most recently rumored to be dating Australian tennis player Matt Reid. The duo sparked relationship rumors after being spotted enjoying lunch together in December 2021.
They were first linked when they attended the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards together in Sydney earlier that month. However, they have yet to be pubilicly seen together since.
Wilson, who recently slimmed down after embarking on a year of health, also entered into a whirlwind relationship with Jacob Busch, the heir to the Anheuser-Busch fortune, in 2020. The pair were hot and heavy for six months but broke up in February 2021.
