Warriors superstar Stephen Curry hasn't been himself lately and he'll receive a night off on Thursday against the New Orleans Pelicans as he nurses a quad contusion.

Over his last five games, Curry is still averaging 21.4 points per game but he is struggling to score efficiently, shooting 31.4 percent from the field and 29.5 percent from 3-point range.

The Warriors are still 3-2 over that stretch but Curry's shooting has been very uncharacteristic, going 8-for-41 from the field and 2-for-19 from 3-point range in his last two games.

Here's everything we know about Curry's absence.

Is Stephen Curry playing tonight?

Following Wednesday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks, it was revealed that Curry suffered a left quad contusion. During his postgame press conference, coach Kerr said "there's a chance" the Warriors rest Curry in New Orleans on Thursday night.

Curry backed his head coach's statement, agreeing by saying, "the way it feels right now, I'm not optimistic, but we'll see."

It was later announced on Thursday afternoon that Curry will be out for Thursday's matchup.

Curry has only missed two games during his MVP-worthy season so far – the Warriors are 1-1 in those two contests.

Thursday's matchup against the Pelicans marks the final game of Golden State's road trip before heading home on Sunday, where All-Star guard Klay Thompson is expected to make his highly-anticipated return to the floor for the first time in two years after recovering from ACL and Achilles injuries.

The Warriors will host the Cavaliers at 8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, so you'd have to assume Curry will try and rest up to rejoin his backcourt mate for that upcoming showdown.
