Usually, when you hear the phrase “Take it off! Take it off!” it is a story that anyone under the age of 18 should not be reading, let alone be on this website. However, this time, it involved an Eagles player on a nationally televised singing competition.
After being voted off from the show, Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata revealed himself to the judges on the Fox show “The Masked Singer” Wednesday.
In a disguise that looked like it could be in the next Muppets movie, Mailata was dressed as a “Thingamabob” while singing several different songs during the competition such as Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi, and “Classic” by MTKO, Mailata showed some range with his voice.

However, Mailata’s time on the show came to an end. With the “Take it off” chants coming from the show’s judges, Mailata removed his costume mask and revealed himself to be the singer.
This was not Mailata’s first gig at singing in front of several people. During last year’s training camp, Mailata sand a rendition of country singer Chris Stapleton’s Tennessee Whisky in front of his teammates, all of whom applauded the starting left tackle.

It is pretty safe to say that Mailata is in the running for most interesting man in Philadelphia. A rugby player from Australia, Mailata joined the Eagles as a seventh-round draft pick in 2018. After stints on injured reserve, Mailata eventually worked his way up to become the team’s starting left tackle in 2021. Who knows. Maybe he will become a recording artist once he decides to call it a career.
