Round 1
Morono comes out swinging and gets wrapped up right away by Cerrone, who gets turned against the fence. They jockey for position against the cage and trade knees. Morono smothers Cerrone and then works short punches before peeling off. Another big entry and Cerrone takes a head kick. They collide again, and Cerrone fires back with kicks. Morono firing big shots, but Cerrone stays calm and works a jab. Now kicks for Cerrone. Morono loading up big, but he’s got a speed advantage as well. Right hand lands for Morono. Body kick for Cerrone, and he ducks under a punch to tie up. Again, Morono turns him and dumps him to the mat before landing a punch as Cerrone rights himself. Cerrone ducks under another big swing, and they pummel briefly before a break. Big right counter for Morono, and Cerrone is bleeding from his nose. Back to kicks for Cerrone, and a big right cracks him. Short punches for Cerrone in counter, but Morono is lightning him up with combinations. Morono is simply faster. Big right hand, and another big right hand rocks Cerrone. Morono swarms again the fence, firing knees and punches. Overhand right lands, and Cerrone covers up. That’s the queue for Marc Goddard to step in, and Morono seals the short-notice victory.
