Clint's past catches up with him in Episode 4 of Hawkeye as a relative of Black Widow aggressively introduces herself.
Kate (Hailee Steinfeld) and Clint's (Jeremy Renner) relationship grew, then ultimately fell apart in the episode "Partners, Am I Right?"—which is available to watch now on Disney+. The LARPers returned to help while a new threat emerged to hinder. We also learned more details about the Tracksuit Mafia and their connections to Kate's stepdad Jack.
We're approaching the business end of the Hawkeye series now, with just two more episodes remaining before the festive finale. Here's a recap of everything that happened in Hawkeye Episode 4 on Disney+.
Ties to the Tracksuit Mafia
Picking up from Episode 3's cliffhanger ending, Kate and Clint are caught snooping around the Bishop home by Jack Duquesne (Tony Dalton) who holds the Ronan sword up to Clint's throat. Kate's mom Eleanor (Vera Farmiga) enters the room to diffuse the situation and Jack actually appears star struck when he realizes they have a an Avenger in the house.
Clint notices the Ronan Sword in Jack's possession and swipes it on his way out of the house. Before he leaves, Eleanor pleads with Clint to keep Kate safe, and asks him to forget the case involving the Tracksuit Mafia. Perhaps Eleanor knows more than she's letting on as, after a bit of digging, Clint finds out Jack's company Sloan LTD are a front for the Tracksuit Mafia.
Back at Kate's extravagant childhood home, Kate finally seems to be warming to Jack as she can see that he makes her mom happy. His embarrassing dad-isms entertain Kate and Eleanor too.
Unfortunately, Kate's hope of a happy family with her stepfather-to-be are dashed when Clint tells her that her suspicions were correct about him.

Though Kate may have missed out on having one surrogate father figure, Clint appears to finally be stepping into the role. While spending an evening of Christmas cheer together, he teaches her how to knock a man out with a coin, and then opens up to her about the time he met Natasha Romanoff.
It's interesting to hear more about Clint and Natasha's origin story. Hawkeye has shown us that Clint is still reeling from her death and tells Kate that the best shot he ever made was the one he chose not to take on Natasha.
He also admits to Kate that he was the Ronan. She tries to absolve him of sin but he claims it's now tied to him and his family. The conversations obviously stir up old memories for Clint as he has flashbacks of Natasha, and the blip as he nods off to sleep.
The next morning, they set out on different missions — Kate tries to retrieve the trick arrows from the Live Action Role Players while Clint visits Tracksuit Mafia member Kazi (Fra Free) to warn him and Echo to back off.
After meeting with the LARPers, they promise to make her and Clint new costumes (which is sure to help with his "branding" issue) before heading out to retrieve an item. They find the location of the Rolex watch retrieved from the Avengers Compound which was stolen in Episode 1.

The new Black Widow enters the game
Kate enters the apartment it's in with Clint watching on but both are attacked at the same time. Kate turns out to be in Echo's (Alaqua Cox) apartment, and the pair spar before meeting up with Clint and his foe on the opposite rooftop.
He's battling a figure dressed in black with night-vision goggles on. The fighter is unidentifiable but they use a red electric stun, which is similar to the blue stun that Natasha Romanoff used to use.
Once the fighting between the four finishes, the mysterious assailant is unmasked and we see it's Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Natasha's sister-figure we met in the Disney+ movie Black Widow. The post-credit scene of that movie suggested that Yelena, a Black Widow assassin, would seek revenge from Clint for his role in her sister-figure's death.
Clint takes this threat seriously and says, "Someone has hired a Black Widow assassin, so this has gotten very real, very quickly."
Perhaps with Eleanor's words fresh in his mind, he tells Kate she should go home and that their partnership is over.
We'd love to believe him, but there are two more episodes left after all.
Episode 5 of Hawkeye drops on Disney+ on Wednesday December 15.
