Hydro One says the power outage in the northern end of the city has been caused by equipment failure.

There is a power outage affecting more than 2,000 customers in the Onaping and Cartier areas at this hour, according to the Hydro One outage map.
The utility says the cause of the outage is currently under investigation, and the estimated time of restoration is 10:30 a.m. this morning.
