KENT, Ohio – The Kent State Football program is excited to announce the promotional schedule for the upcoming 2023 football season.

The schedule features five opportunities to see your Golden Flashes at Dix Stadium in 2023 with the home opener scheduled at noon on Saturday, September 16 vs. Central Connecticut State.

Highlights of the 2023 promotional schedule include military appreciation day and the home opener, Parents & Family Weekend on Sept. 30 against Miami, Homecoming on October 21st as the Flashes host the University at Buffalo and Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 25th  against Northern Illinois.

September 16 vs. Central Connecticut State

• Military Appreciation Day: Join us as we salute veterans and active-duty members of the Armed Forces. The first 2,5000 fans will receive a complimentary clear stadium bag featuring a patriotic rendition of the Golden Flashes logo.
• Greek Day: Members of Greek Life at Kent State are invited to attend the game while the first 800 students in attendance will receive a free Golden Flashes replica jersey.
• 2023 Hall of Fame: The 2023 Varsity "K" Athletics Hall of Fame class, consisting of nine members, will be honored as part of the 44th induction ceremony and will also be recognized during the game.
• Future Flashes Kid's Club Day: All members of the Future Flashes Kid's receive free admission to the game. Enjoy our Welcome Back Party featuring inflatables, prizes, and more.
• Group Themes: Military/Veteran, First Responder's

September 30 vs. Miami

• Parent & Family Weekend: Registrants will receive a complimentary belt bag, a pre-game tailgate, and much more. Contact the Parent and Families Engagement staff for more information.
• Navy Out: All fans are encouraged to wear their Kent State navy blue to the game.
• Kent GRIT Sunglasses Giveaway: The first 500 students in attendance will receive a free pair of Kent GRIT sunglasses.
• HS Band Day: Marching bands from the local area team up with the Marching Golden Flashes and perform throughout the game and during halftime.
• Group Themes: Scouts, Faith and Family

October 21 vs. Buffalo

• Homecoming: Don't miss out on a second of the festivities during the annual Homecoming game as we welcome student, alumni and friends back to campus.
• Gold Out: All fans are encouraged to wear their Kent State gold to the game.
• Group Themes: 330 Day (Local Businesses/Unions), Educator Appreciation

November 8 vs. Bowling Green

• Mid-Week MACtion: Don't miss the lone Mid-Week MACtion game at Dix Stadium this season!
• Prez D Freeze Out: Join Kent State President Todd Diacon for the annual Freeze-Out game. Students will take home a free stadium blanket and enjoy complimentary refreshments during the game.
• Group Themes: Youth Football, Youth Spirit Groups, Healthcare Appreciation

November 25 vs. Northern Illinois

• Senior Day: Senior members of the football program and Marching Golden Flashes will be recognized for their contributions to Kent State.
• Kent GRIT Hat Giveaway: The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Kent GRIT hat courtesy of our friends at University Edge.
• Group Bounce Back Day: All groups who attended a game during the 2023 season are invited back to close out the home slate strong.
