Céline Dion made a rare public appearance on Sunday night at the 2024 Grammys looking as glamorous as ever.

The five-time Grammy winner, who has taken time out of the spotlight since being diagnosed with the rare and incurable neurological disorder stiff person syndrome (SPS) in 2022, commanded the stage — and received a standing ovation — as she presented album of the year to Taylor Swift.

The icon wore an elegant baby pink floor-sweeping gown with a pleated bodice. She accessorized with an eye-catching necklace and diamond bracelet. She completed the look with a long caramel coat and her hair in a sleek bob.

"Thank you all, I love you right back. You look beautiful," she shared on stage, adding, "When I say I'm happy to be here I really mean it form my heart."

The 'My Heart Will Go On" singer, 55, took the stage in a glitzy ensemble styled by image architect Law Roach, who specifically came out of "retirement" to style Dion after abruptly announcing his exit from celebrity styling in March 2022.

Roach, who has also styled Zendaya and Megan Thee Stallion, took to Instagram with a video of a name tag graphic written with, "Hello I am UNRETIRED," along with the caption,"One nite [sic] only!!!!!"

Back in May, the five-time Grammy winner canceled 42 dates of her Courage World Tour scheduled through April 2024 because of stiff-person syndrome.

Later that month, a source told PEOPLE that Dion's goal is to "tour again for sure, but once she is better." The insider added: "Right now she’s focusing on her health."

Dion's condition, according to the Stiff Person Syndrome Foundation, affects the central nervous system, specifically the brain and spinal cord. "Patients can be disabled, wheelchair-bound or bed-ridden, unable to work and care for themselves," they say.

In September, Dion's older sister, Claudette, gave an update on the Canadian singer's ongoing health issues. “She’s doing everything to recover,” she told Hello! Canada. “She’s a strong woman.”

“It’s an illness we know so little about. There are spasms – they’re impossible to control,” Claudette said. “There’s little we can do to support her, to alleviate her pain.”

Another source told PEOPLE that her three sons, René-Charles, 22, and 12-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy, are a source of joy as she regains her strength.

“Her main focuses are always her sons and performing. She is the most selfless and considerate person," they said "Céline just loves her boys so much. They are amazing. They give her all the support and love that she needs."

Dion returned to the stage looking "happy" in November 2023 as she performed at a hockey game between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Montreal Canadiens.

"She's been through a lot, and to see her like this and smiling and being so happy...it's amazing," Chantal Machabée, vice president of hockey communications for the Canadiens, tells PEOPLE. "I know she has good days and not so good days, but this was a very good day, and it was reassuring."
