FULL TIME: Salford City 1-1 Leeds United (Salford win 9-8 on penalties). Ashley hammers home, grabbing his second chance with both hands, and disappears into a delighted crowd! Leeds are out, Salford are through to the third round for the first time in their history, and this is the giant-killing story of the night!

Jamie Shackleton aims for the top right … but hits the underside of the bar. The ball sails away and Shackleton grimaces. Over to Ossama Ashley who aims for the bottom right … only for Karl Darlow to parry! But it’ll be retaken because the keeper was miles off his line. Darlow is booked, Ashley steps up again, and …

Crysencio Summerville absolutely skelps his kick into the top left. The pressure now on Curtis Tilt who … should see his poor kick, a weak sidefoot towards the bottom left, saved. But Karl Darlow allows it to slip through his hands.

Ethan Ampadu gets away with a poor kick that squirts under Alex Cairns. Adrian Mariappa responds by whistling into the left-hand inside netting. Perfectly placed. It’s 7-7.

It’s 6-6! Bolton opens his body and curls gracefully into the bottom right. In the stands, Roy Keane and Nicky Butt look on nervously.

Charlie Cresswell roofs his spot kick to make it 6-5 to Leeds. Here comes Luke Bolton, who now needs to score.

… absolutely LASHES his penalty off the crossbar. That was hit at 101 miles per hour. An inch lower and the net was ripping. As it is, it’s slightly surprising the frame of the goal hasn’t been reduced to a pile of splinters. Leo Hjelde and Matty Lund trade successful kicks and it’s 4-4 after the first set of five. Sudden death now!

Willy Gnonto sends the keeper one way, then hammers his penalty into the left-hand side of the net. It’s 3-3 … but not for long, as Marcus Dackers whips a one-step penalty into the bottom left. All of a sudden Luis Sinisterra has to score or Leeds are out! He whistles one into the bottom left. But it still means Salford have a kick to go through. It’ll be down to Connor McLennan, who steps up and …

Leeds and Salford slot the first four penalties. Then Georginio Rutter steps up, and hits a dreadful dribbler down the middle. Easy for Alex Cairns, who didn’t need to move. Ryan Watson lashes Salford’s third into the top left, and it’s advantage Salford. The shock is on!

FULL TIME: Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Mansfield (Mansfield win 5-4 on penalties)
FULL TIME: Exeter 1-1 Stevenage (Exeter win 5-3 on penalties)
FULL TIME: Wrexham 1-1 Bradford (Bradford win 4-3 on penalties)
FULL TIME: Portsmouth 1-1 Peterborough (Peterborough win 5-4 on penalties)

Spot-kick joy/heartbreak up and down the land.

GOAL! Reading 2-2 Ipswich (Ehibhatiomhan 87). Against the run of play, Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan levels for the hosts and penalties loom!

FULL TIME: Fulham 1-1 Tottenham (Fulham win 5-3 on penalties). Davinson Sanchez has his weak penalty saved. Kenny Tete, who had been off the pitch fixing his boots when Richarlison equalised, slams home the winning kick. The end of the Ange Postecoglou honeymoon already? Nope, let’s not be silly.
