The game starts at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on Spectrum SportsNet in the greater Los Angeles area. A full preview, including injury reports for both teams, can be seen here.

The Lakers will look to take yet another step toward a potential playoff spot when they take on the team with the worst record in the Western Conference. Los Angeles is currently in eighth place in the West, but it is just one game behind the sixth-place Los Angeles Clippers and 1.5 games behind the fifth-place Golden State Warriors.

Advice and prediction

On paper, this looks like a massive mismatch. The Lakers have been arguably the NBA's best defensive team since the All-Star break, and they have won 14 of their last 21 games, despite not having LeBron James for the vast majority of those contests.

If there is a concern for L.A., it's the health of Anthony Davis, who suffered an apparent sprained ankle in the third quarter of Friday's win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He remained in the game, however, and ironically, he played his best basketball after getting hurt.

But the Rockets have nothing to play for at this point, while the Lakers have plenty to strive for. James and his crew should win this one without too much trouble.

Prediction: Lakers 125, Rockets 111
