Notable fans over the years have included Prime Minister Harold Wilson, who was born in the town, and actor Sir Patrick Stewart, who became president of the Huddersfield Town Academy in 2010. Huddersfield Town's main rivals are considered to be West Yorkshire clubs Bradford City and Leeds United.

Huddersfield Town boss Andre Breitenreiter has left by mutual consent following the club's relegation from the Championship. The German took over in February after Darren Moore was sacked but won just two of his 13 games as the Terriers were relegated to League One on the final day of the regular season last Saturday.

Huddersfield sack sporting director Cartwright Cartwright joined the Yorkshire club in July 2023 and the club were relegated from the Championship in his only full season in post. The Terriers sit five points off the League One play-off places with three matches remaining and have lost five of their past six matches.
