Invited to bat, India posted 190 for 6 with skipper Rohit Sharma top-scoring with 64 off 44 balls. Dinesh Karthik managed a quickfire 19-ball 41. For West Indies, Alazarri Joseph had best figures of 2 for 46 while left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein was the most economical, giving away only 14 runs in 4 overs with a wicket in his kitty. India scored 45 runs in their last three overs. The visiting side then restricted West Indies to 122 for 8 in 20 overs with Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh taking two wickets apiece. For West Indies, Shamarh Brooks top-scored with 20.

That's another one down as Hetmyer falls to Ashwin as Suryakumar Yadav takes the catch in the deep. West Indies in a world of trouble. WI 86/6 after 13 overs.
GONE!!! What an introduction for Bishnoi. That is what he can do. Powell tries to make room, did not get in the way of that googly and he's back in the hut in a jiffy. WI 82/5 after 11.1 overs.
And gone!!! Ashwin has done the job for India. What a corker. Pooran tries to play the flat ball, gets the edge and Pant takes the catch behind the wicket!!! WI 66/4 after 8.2 overs.
After a 6 in the previous over, Pooran continues with a 4 in the 8th over. India would do well to take this man out. Rovman Powell joins the party and just effortlessly hits the 5th ball for a 6. WI 65/3 after 8 overs
Bhuvneshwar in to bowl the last over inside powerplay. And gone!!! What a delivery by Bhuvi. Slower delivery and that has taken off the bails of Brooks.
On to the 5th over now and Ashwin is in to bowl this one. Very nice fielding from Iyer in the deep to save a boundary. Doesn't matter as Brooks hits a huge six!!! WI 42/2 after 5 overs.
Jadeja gets the wicket of Holder. That's a great delivery by Jadeja, gets a wicket in his very first over for India. Great captaincy by Rohit Sharma. WI are 27/2 after 3 overs.
Mayers hits a six against Arshdeep Singh. He again hits him for a boundary. But then Arshdeep Singh gets a breakthrough. He snaps up Mayers and Bhuvneshwar takes an easy catch. WI are 22/1 after 2 overs.
Mayers and Shamarh Brooks start the proceedings for West Indies. Bhuvneshwar bowls the first over for India. He conceds two boundaries in the first over. WI are 11/0 after 1 over.
Obed McCoy bowls the last over for West Indies. Karthik hits him for a six and a four respectively. He finishes off things with a boundary on the last ball. Ind are 190/6 after 20 overs.
Ashwin gets a six against Holder over the deep mid-wicket. Karthik also hits him for a six and follows that up with a boundary. India make a comeback now. Ind are 175/6 after 19 overs.
Alzarri Joseph strikes again as he picks the wicket of Jadeja and Keemo Paul welcomes the catch in the end. West Indies are in a commanding position now. Ind are 138/6 after 16 overs.
Holder takes the wicket of Rohit and Hetmyer grabs a brilliant catch. India are in trouble now and great show of bowling by West Indies. Ind are 131/5 after 15 overs.
Two consecutive boundaries for Rohit Sharma. He takes on Alzarri Joseph this time and gets his half-century. But Alzarri Joseph ends up scalping the wicket of Hardik Pandya. Ind are 104/4 after 12 overs.
After hitting back-to-back boundaries against Keemo Paul, Rishabh Pant walks off to the pavilion. Keemo Paul gets him and Akeal Hosein takes an easy catch. Ind are 88/3 after 10 overs.
Rohit takes on Alzarri Joseph as he hits him for a maximum. He times it to perfection and hits it over the square leg this time. What a shot!! Ind are 62/2 after 8 overs.
Obed McCoy picks the wicket of Shreyas Iyer and Akeal Hosein grabs an easy catch in the end. Two quick wickets for West Indies. Ind are 45/2 after 6 overs.
Akeal Hosein takes the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav and an easy catch by Holder does the rest. Big wicket for West Indies as SKY looks good. Ind are 44/1 after 5 overs.
Suryakumar Yadav seems to be in great touch. He launches a six here against Alzarri Joseph. That's a Surya special!! Top class batting from SKY as he again gets a boundary. Ind are 43/0 after 4 overs.
Rohit against hits a four against Akeal Hosein. He glances it fine towards the fine leg. Great timing!! Both the Indian batters are batting really weel here. Ind are 25/0 after 3 overs.
Rohit gets a six here against Holder. Rohit guides it over the cover and gets the result. Suryakumar Yadav gets another boundary. This is turning out to be an expensive over for Holder. Ind are 20/0 after 2 overs.

India captain Rohit Sharma has said that he genuinely feels newly-appointed mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton can make a difference to the team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has brought in the South African once again, after the 2011 World Cup triumph, on the recommendation of head coach Rahul Dravid to help prepare the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

In terms of sheer numbers, the Pant-Rohit opening pair didn't set the stage on fire against England but statistics often do not provide the bigger picture. The left-right combination has shown intent to dominate and with their kind of range could prove to be a nightmare for any opposition on a given day.

Deepak Hooda, whatever little amount of T20Is that he has played, has shown that belongs to this level. He has a hundred opening the innings against Ireland and in the only T20 that he played against England, he looked the part before being forced to relinquish his place to Kohli.
