Gigi Hadid Brought out All Her Fashionable Friends to Fete Her New Cashmere Label Guest In Residence
Last night on the eve of NYFW, Gigi Hadid and friends gathered to celebrate the launch of the supermodel’s luxury cashmere brand, Guest In Residence. Serving as founder and creative director, Hadid’s inaugural brand venture was released on September 7, inspired by her rigorous globe-trotting travel throughout her modeling career.
“Both my parents each gave me cashmere pieces for my first winter in New York working. I took care of those pieces, and I styled with a lot of different outfits. The core of Guests in Residence is to create pieces that can live with you through life because it’s a material that makes you feel comfortable and warm regardless of the situation,” Gigi Hadid told Vogue, wearing the Showtime Shirt in bubble gum pink from her brand’s core collection.
Gigi’s personal touch was felt throughout the fête. Just down the spiral staircase of L’Avenue at Saks lies the sultry candlelit ambiance of Le Chalet’s cocktail bar, dawned in florals by Gigi’s favorite woman-owned florist, PopUp. Guests were welcomed by the tone-setting sounds of DJ Amrit and a photo booth moment by MirMir. Amidst the stone walls and cabin-esque decor, the supermodel’s nearest and dearest friends of the fashion industry sipped on glasses of Champagne near the crackling fireplace, followed by a Parisian-inspired dinner.
Party goers included supportive sister Bella Hadid, OBE Edward Enninful, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, Emily Ratajkowski, Anok Yai, Law Roach, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Imaan Hammam, Joseph Altuzarra, Noor Tagour, Precious Lee, Sophia Roe, and many more.
“I really wanted to take the time to think about what would feel genuine for me to put out as a product and what felt true to my style. I’m lucky enough to wear these beautiful clothes for my job, but on an everyday basis, my closet is quite sustainable in the sense that I buy and keep pieces that are my favorites that are kind of uniform that can be styled in different ways,” Gigi Hadid told Vogue. “Luxury cashmere line is really one that I wanted to make more accessible than I think that market has been in the past, while creating simple pieces that can live in your wardrobe and last you through your style journey.”
