Sheffield United will allow both Will Osula and Kyron Gordon to leave the club on loan this week, according to reports.
The respected journalist Alan Nixon writes on his Patreon today that Osula is all set for a loan move to Burton Albion, while Gordon will be allowed to leave for Tranmere Rovers.
It comes amid continued talk that United will allow a few of the younger players to move out before Thursday’s deadline in order to get first-team experience under their belts. Osula has been in and around the first-team this season but has attracted admiring glances from a number of clubs.
Gordon, meanwhile, played plenty of games last season but the signing of Anel Ahmedhodzic has shunted him down the pecking order a tad.
Both are highly-rated at United and Paul Heckingbottom will have no qualms about letting them go out and get exposure to first-team football on a weekly basis. For Osula in particular, a move to Burton is tried and tested by the club following Daniel Jebbison’s successful spell there last term.
Our View: Loan Moves Good For Gordon And Osula
It’s all about getting opportunities and with United’s squad looking so strong heading into Thursday, there is every chance these deals go through.
Gordon needs to build on last season’s game time at the club while Osula has shown glimpses but could also do with getting regular action. A move to Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink’s Burton will be massive for him, and he can expect to get the chance to impress.
The Blades do have a number of exciting young players emerging from the ranks at the moment. But these young players need maximising and sending them out on loan is the ideal step for all involved.
