For over a decade, Google Research has been exploring how we can use artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect early-stage wildfires and model how fires spread. That includes teaming up with Muon Space to support the Earth Fire Alliance’s FireSat program, a new satellite constellation designed to detect and monitor wildfires. We sat down with a Google research scientist to understand exactly how this technology works.
